What D1 College Coaches Look For

I recently talked to a D1 recruiting coordinator.

He told me this:

"I watch everything."

✅ What players do on-deck

✅ How they walk to the plate

✅ How they take a pitch

✅ How they run through 1B

✅ What they do after they cross the bag

Nothing goes unnoticed.

Then he told me something even more interesting...

"It's not obvious who I'm watching.

"And it's not obvious if I'm paying attention."

That's why you rarely see college coaches filming games.

Everyone wants to know who they're watching.

But you never really know.

Even at the highest levels of the game, the best programs don't just value talent.

They value everything.

⚾️ How you handle failure

⚾️ What type of teammate you are

Sure, some programs only chase the most talented players.

But the best recruiters?

They want the best players who make a positive impact on the field.
