The Story You Tell Yourself

What you tell yourself becomes your reality.

I believe in visualization, energy, and the power of positive thinking.

If you believe in yourself, you can do extraordinary things.

You can also stay the same forever.

Unfortunately, most people never reach their full potential.

That's not because they're not good people or don't work hard. It's the story they continue to tell themselves between their ears.

It's a victim mindset.

"I can't hit slow pitching."

I can't tell you how often I've heard someone say that.

You're right. You can't hit slow pitching.

You are speaking it into existence by telling yourself you can't and then saying it out loud.
  • "The coach doesn't like me."
  • "The world is against me."
  • "Nobody is going to offer me."
I feel sad just writing these out.

We're all guilty of doing this, myself included.

The first thing players need to do is catch themselves when these thoughts start to creep into their minds.

Self Awareness is a valuable skill.

Take those thoughts and picture them going through a paper shredder.

We're training our minds to clear those thoughts.

Now start visualizing yourself doing the things that you want to do.

If you're seeing yourself up at the plate, what lens are you watching yourself through?
  1. The CF camera?
  2. Behind home plate?
  3. In the batter's box

The closer you get to what will happen and picture yourself there, the better.

Remember, your subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between what's real and what's not.

Let's ensure we're telling it what we want it to know.

You can control your reality; it starts with the story you tell yourself.

Thanks,
